As you know, on January 19, God called Marianne Boehme back to be with Him. She was a friend, a teacher, and a person who always had God at the center of her life. Among the many things she was involved in, she was the driving force of our Haiti mission, making over 80 trips there, taking many parishioners with her over the years. She was tireless in her perseverance and dedication. The pictures you see here were taken on Thursday, January 30, at a memorial service in Jacmel, Haiti, being held for Marianne. It was organized by our bible study teachers and attended by approximately 265 people, including the Bible study groups, special needs children from Wings of Hope, and many of the kids from the nearby grade school. Fr. Samson, a parish priest in Jacmel, conducted much of the service. The work Marianne started in Haiti will continue. We are assembling a core team, some members of which have been involved with the mission since its inception, others are relatively new. Pray that all goes well. “Marianne, you’ve run a good race and you’ve crossed the finish line. Godspeed, my dear lady.”
