Dear Friends at Saint Frances Cabrini Parish: Praised be Jesus Christ! I wanted to offer a brief parish news update and also an added invitation to our upcoming parish information meetings taking place in mid-October. There are many exciting things to talk about! On the overall general news front of ministries, activities, and finances we are very blessed to be trending in positive directions at this point of the year. Even with the ongoing challenges posed to everyone by Covid19, etc, everyone seems to be trying very hard to adjust, to be patient, and also to connect in meaningful ways. Our Mass attendance could always be higher but it is pretty good under the circumstances. I also really appreciate everyone’s attempts to keep up with your regular stewardship giving. We are holding our own on that front right now as well. And, our formation and school programs at all age levels (adult formation included) are off and running and we are doing great. To top it off, we are having a picnic in a couple of weeks which I am very excited about. Looking ahead, the facilities committee along with both the Pastoral and the Finance Councils have been very busy the past couple of months pouring through a lot of information about proposed projects around the campus that will be important as we look to our future here. We are very fortunate to have taken care of many major facilities upgrades in the last several years, leaving us in the position to expand our reach about what else is needed and what is possible here to keep the parish strong. The timing of it all coincides well with the upcoming Love One Another Capital Campaign which every parish in the Archdiocese is participating in; here at Cabrini we will be launching into it this winter. The monies that we raise for this campaign that come back to our parish will be directed to the projects that we decide to include in our parish campaign case statement. All of this is under consideration right now. We have some really important and even exciting projects to consider around here, and at our upcoming parish information meetings, the Parish Council will be presenting information about them so that everyone can be informed, and can also ask questions to make sure we are thinking about all the needed details. We are offering the same meeting format at two different dates and times in order to give everyone more opportunities to attend. The first opportunity will be Thursday, October 14th, at 6:30pm in the Church Hall. The second opportunity will be Saturday, October 16th, at 9am in the Church Hall. We hope to see you there! In the meantime, if you have any questions or items of note about any of the above please do not hesitate to ask.
