Music Ministries

There are many different ways that you may become involved in music here at Saint Frances Cabrini, and we are delighted to have you join us!

CHOIR - 

• Weekly Sunday rehearsals, 11:30 AM - 1:15 PM begin Sunday, October 16 in preparation for the Christmas liturgies.  Holy Week/Easter liturgy rehearsals will begin in February. 

• The choir also sings at occasional, scheduled 10:30 AM Sunday Masses.

HANDBELL CHOIR

• Contact Lori Schneider to be included on a substitute list for our current choir that is preparing for Christmas liturgies, or to be considered for our Easter handbell choir(rehearsals begin in February)

• Weekly Thursday evening rehearsals begin October 13 in preparation for the Christmas liturgies.  

FAMILY CHOIR

• Contact Lori Schneider if you and your family(children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, Confirmation sponsors..) would like to occasionally sing at the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass.  Weekly rehearsals and the ability to read music are not required.

Cantors

Cantors help lead the congregation in worship through song at various Holy Day and weekend liturgies, as well as weddings and funerals. Schedules for weekly liturgies are based upon your availability, and made out approximately 3-4 times a year. The cantor arrives one half hour before the liturgy begins to practice with the accompanist.  High School age youth through adults may apply.    All of the materials needed including music books, digital rehearsal recordings, and ongoing communication with our liturgy coordinators are provided.   For more information please contact Lori Schneider. 

Accompanists

Accompanists are assigned to play at various weekend liturgies and major liturgical celebrations. Schedules are made out approximately 6 times a year. Musician arrives one half hour before the liturgy to practice with the cantor. Additional rehearsals may be required for large Feast Days. Please contact Lori Schneider if you wish to audition as an accompanist.

Instrumentalists

We are always looking for talented instrumentalists to enhance the liturgy.  Whether you wish to play on an occasional or a regular basis, please contact Lori to discuss possibilities.  Student musicians are encouraged to participate.

Resurrection Choir       

The Resurrection Choir sings at both day and evening funerals as needed. When there is a funeral we use a simple calling list to let people know when the service is and then we get together about a half hour before the liturgy begins.
