The 40-foot-tall mural in the sanctuary of the church forms a dramatic high altar that depicts the glorified Christ coming at the end of time.
He is seated on his heavenly throne as the
King of the Universe,
surrounded by the heavenly court of angels and saints.
Above him is the Holy Spirit shown as a dove,
and at the top in Hebrew letters is a visible symbol
of the invisible God.
The entire mural is framed by the striking beams of the church’s tower that form at their base a crown, or corona,
over the altar of sacrifice.
The Church’s liturgy is a glorious act of worship
of Christ the King.
He nourishes us with his very self in order to transform us into heavenly beings.
The liturgy is the entity that unites us to Christ so that we can move from the pews to the mural by way of the altar:
from sinners to saints,
through death to new life.
