Meet Kara Conley, FOCUS Missionary

Hi! My name is Kara Conley, and I am a Campus Missionary with FOCUS (The Fellowship of Catholic University Students). I am from West Bend, WI and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020 with degrees in English literature and political science. I recently finished my first year on mission and have committed again to the 2021-2022 school year. During my college years, Jesus radically changed my life through the FOCUS missionaries that served on the UW-Madison campus. I am blessed to continue my journey with FOCUS now serving college students at the University of Missouri! 

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Jesus Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus, and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on Earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet his disciples at their level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus’ own example to find the best method of reaching the world.

Through authentic friendship, divine intimacy, and the little way of evangelization, I hope to build up the Church with the next generation of saints by reaching college students during the most formative years of their lives. Walking with students in their discipleship with Jesus by providing weekly formation, Bible studies, and various retreats has created the space for students to personally encounter and grow in a lasting relationship with Him. Students become witnesses across their campuses, realizing their deepest identity as beloved sons and daughters of God. It has been a privilege to see their hearts burn for true discipleship for their friends, family, and classmates with a desire to continue living mission beyond their college years!

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me.
